So I ate 1 mushroom soup and my food gauge suddenly dropped to 25%. Is that normal or is it a bug? Oh, and the second time I consumed it, it didn't work; instead, it gave me sweet & sour fruit effect (hp regen). Does anyone else have the same problem?

It is working as intended, your food gauge goes down. Your food gauge must be full again befor you eat another mushroom soup.
