oh god yes.

the reason been for this is the time and effort it takes to actually do someting of note in these games.
that then has the effect of familiarising yourself with your characters so much, that you start incorporate them into your routines.

i think habbit is a better word than addiction.

They sure can be, especially when you have a MMO which has a great sense of "let's just do this quest and then I'm off" and then you find yourself cursing yourself 4 hours later.
